Day 2 in Malacca - part 2~~~

Sunday nite...

Driving around the town before going for dinner.

Something caught my attention - a beautiful mosque. This mosque, a new landmark in Melaka, is known as Masjid Selat Melaka (Melaka Strait Mosque).

Masjid Selat Melaka is built along the coastline of Strait of Malacca. The area where they build the mosque is actually what they call the reclaimed land. Because it is built at the water level of the sea, in the evening at high tide, Masjid Selat Melaka looks like a floating mosque.

Dinner time...

We decided to go for nyonya food that nite. There are many nyonya restaurants around, giving us a hard time to decided which restaurant should we go to. At last, we went to this reataurant - Restaurant Nyonya Makko. Well, the exterior of the restaurant isnt tat attractive. The door is closed most of the time, looking as though its closed.

restaurant nyonya makko...

Nyonya food is basically food which originated from the Baba Nyonya clan which is an interesting mix of Chinese and Malay dishes from the Peranakan (Straits Chinese) of Malacca over 400 years ago. Nyonya cuisines are cooked with the best ingredients and the freshest item.

the menu...

Since there is only 2 of us, so we could only order 3 dishes.

ayam buah keluak...

kerabu mango...

steam otak-otak...

The food is delicious. All of it have its own unique taste. As for the price, is reasonable i can say. I'll surely come back again if I come down to Malacca.
