Chinese New Year - Day 14~~~

This year, instead of having our 'Chap Goh Meh' on the 15th day of cny, we have it 1 day earlier. To make it even special, we have Korean cuisine instead of tradiational chinese cuisine. Of coz is my idea la... Hahaha.

The Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant we went to is the 1 located in Kota Damansara, just above Khalifah Bistro.

daorae korean bbq reataurant...

I made reservation 2 days ago. Therefore we managed to get a private room to enjoy our wonderful dinner.

private room...

They served us with sauces to go with the bbq. They also served us tea which is refillable. We noticed that they dun served any other drinks beside alcohol beverages. Maybe having bbq is too heaty and tea/alcohol can cool the body down. Hehehe...

getting ready...

Heating up the bbq grills... Since there are 7 of us, they set up 2 bbq grills which make it easier when bbq-ing the food.

on fire...

First comes the Yang-nyum Yang-go-gi - Cuts of lamb specially hand filleted, marinated in sweet soy sauce.

lamb...

Next, Gal-bi-sal - Boneless beef short ribs marinated in Daorae's secret recipe sauce.

boneless beef ribs...

The last bbq dish we ordered is the Go-chu-jang Sam-kyub-sal - Thin slices of belly pork marinated in Korean traditional chili sauce.

pork belly...

The waiter will help us in bbq-ing the meat. They will alwiz keep an eye on it to make sure the meat doesnt burn. I can say their service is good over here. *thumb up*

When having Korean cuisine, they will usually served u with alot of small dishes as appetizers. They served us with 2 sets of 10 different types of appetizers and guess wat... is refillable. I think we refilled twice... which means we had 4 sets instead. Hahaha...

starters...

My sister loves Korean food. She order Soon-dubu-jjigae - Soft tofu with fresh seafood simmered in a spicy broth, served with rice and have it all by herself.

spicy broth...

Here is the Heamool-tang - A selection of the freshest seafood, tofu, fresh garden vegetables simmered n a rich spicy chili soup, served in a hot cast iron pot. This hot pot is very different if compared to the 1 I had in Restaurant Dae Sa Kwan @ Desa Sri Hartamas.

hot pot...

The seafood include lala, mussles, big crab, prawns, sotong......

seafood...

The menu say spicy chili soup. Hhmm... To me, is not spicy at all but is still delicious la...

big crab...

I ordered Kimchi-jeon - A spicy, savory pancake comprising of kimchi tossed in light butter, pan fried to perfection.

spicy pancake...

Im not sure whether there's any special occasion or the boss is jus feel like it, she actually treat us another pancake.

f.o.c pancake...

We had watermelon for dessert.

watermelon...

They also serves us with their Korean ginger tea. Well, this tea tasted abit awful. It leaves a not plesant taste in your mouth. We even make fun out of the tea saying that it might not be tea for us to drink but is for us to wash our hands. Hahaha... Will see whether we get stomachache after the tea, den we'll know......

ginger tea...

It was a wonderful dinner. Everyone is full and happy. Of coz, me and my baby's wallet are not happy la. :-p
